Islington Partners in Practice

The Islington Partners in Practice programme is a Department of Education (DfE) funded sector led improvement programme that followed on from the Innovations programme. The aim is to support Boroughs assessed by Ofsted as ‘requires improvement’ to become ‘good’. The Islington PiP team deliver a bespoke programme to support the journey to ‘Good’. The approach is grounded in Motivational Practice – the model of practice developed during the Islington Innovations Project and early stages of the Partners in Practice programme. The PiP Team support partner Boroughs around agreed themes such as, leadership, equalities diversity and inclusion, intelligent use of data, creating the conditions to practice, and practice.

As a PiP Consultant, my role focussed on whole systems change, intelligent use of data, and child and family outcomes. I worked alongside London Borough of Islington’s Practice & Outcomes Board and Data & Performance Team to develop an Outcomes & Impact Framework and Data Dashboards to enhance how data is used within the organisation to improve outcomes for children and families and service delivery. Islington PiP support partner Boroughs to use data intelligently as part of their journey to ‘Good’. PiP is offering support to partner authority’s to develop their own Outcome & Impact Framework and Data Dashboards.
